About The Book

Far Foreign Land is the story of a five-day trip by train from Lime Street to Turkey for the Champions League final in May 2005. Like thousands of other fans, Tony Evans crossed Europe without a ticket, desperate to see what turned into an unbelievable match against AC Milan in Istanbul. Liverpool's run to the final, however, evoked other trips, some that stopped off in dark places - Rome, Heysel, Hillsborough.

From Rome in 1984 to a glorious night at the Ataturk Stadium, Far Foreign Land charts the highs and lows of Liverpool supporters and illustrates how the game has changed over the past two decades.
